Our Mission
Opening dialogue, opening doors
Located in the densely populated urban core of central Gateshead, an area of deprivation and disadvantage. This is no different for the Jewish community, whose cultural and religious barriers result in social inequity, economic and health inequalities and digital exclusion. As a BAME community with unique cultural needs, these barriers increase their disadvantage, resulting in inhibited life chances.
Our mission is to break down barriers and open doors of opportunity to ensure equitable access to everyone.
Through dialogue with local and national agencies, voluntary sector support organisations, Local Authority, Police and health and wellbeing bodies – as well as offering support, advocacy, and opportunity – we foster the growth and empowerment of every individual within our community.
Through these efforts, we aim to remove barriers and work together more effectively, thereby improving the social, economic and health prospects of the Orthodox Jewish community in Gateshead.

WHAT WE DO
A cornerstone of the community
Support
There is lots of support available for organisations and individuals — but lots of red tape too, which makes it hard to access. We help the community navigate and secure eligible support to ensure the many local charities and families are not left in the red.
Advocacy
The Jewish community is an insular one, which may be hard for the wider community to reach — or understand. We serve as the community’s voice and public liaison, to enable us to work together with external agencies more effectively.
Opportunity
Following the cost of living crisis and changes to the benefit system, we provide multiple training, employment and housing opportunities and health clinics in our facility to give families a foundation for the future.
