Having lived and worked in Gateshead all his life, David feels strongly for the community and its wellbeing. A Governor at Ateres High School for Girls and long-time founder of Lchu Vonim Youth Club, David has amassed decades of experience in volunteering and lends his considerable community knowledge to ensuring the continued success of the JCCG.

As Appointed Governor of the QE Hospital Trust (Gateshead) and Honorary Chaplain at the Newcastle NHS Trust, Aron is uniquely placed to contribute to the JCCG’s mission of furthering the interests of the community and ensuring their voice is heard. Aron’s father in law is the late Mr Ezriel Salomon MBE who is well remembered for pioneering community work.

Project Director
Jonathan joined the JCCG in September 2019 as Project Director. Jonathan’s focus is on delivering the aims of the National Lottery’s Reaching Communities award – especially the employment and business support aspect – in addition to overseeing the other operations of the JCCG which include welfare guidance, supporting local charities, delivering cultural awareness workshops and maintaining relationships with the Police and Local Authority.

Welfare guidance
With his in-depth understanding of the welfare system, Rabbi Sugarman delivers our one-to-one benefit advice service and acclaimed Universal Credit preparation workshops. He also leads the JCCG’s advocacy work on welfare, partnering with organisations such as CPAG and Interlink to lobby government for welfare reform. Rabbi Sugarman and his wife are the founders of Haskel, a special needs school.

Naomi joined the JCCG in September 2019. Together with Aliza, she takes care of the
front desk supporting our service users. Naomi is an indispensable part of the JCCG’s various projects, and a fount of new initiatives and ideas for how the JCCG can positively impact people’s lives.
